H1B Passport Tracking: How to Know if Your Passport is Ready

Your H1B visa passport tracker messages will indicate your passport status. As we have already mentioned above, if your message says "Origination Scan," your passport is on its way from the consulate to the pick-up location. However, it is not yet available for pick-up. Hence, you should wait until you get a " Ready for Pick Up" message. Only then can you go to the pick-up location and collect your passport.

Here are some important pointers to remember:

  • Know that your passport has not reached its final destination until your passport tracker message reads "Ready for pick-up."
  • Kindly avoid contacting the Embassy or the Consulate regarding your passport delivery. Either office cannot help you regarding the same.
  • Ensure you collect your passport within 14 calendar days from the selected location, or it is returned to the Consulate or the Embassy.
  • Ensure you provide the correct email address and check your mailbox regularly for notifications.
  • Collect your passport within the stipulated time specifically mentioned for your country, especially if you have opted for delivery via courier service.
  • Collect your passport within seven business days if you have selected a Blue Dart courier location.

Due to security and safety regulations, each passport will be delivered in a separate envelope. Additional passports or envelopes will not be discounted.

  1. Their own photo id issued by the government
  2. Photocopy of your (the applicant) photo id.
  3. Letter of authority signed by the applicant granting them permission to collect the passport. This letter should have both the applicant's name and the representative's name just as it is mentioned on the id card or document.
